The L&N Building, also known as the Louisville & Nashville Building, is a historic skyscraper located in downtown Louisville, Kentucky. It was built in 1905 and designed by architects McDonald Brothers, who also designed several other notable buildings in Louisville.
At 16 stories tall, the L&N Building was the tallest building in Kentucky when it was completed. It served as the headquarters for the Louisville & Nashville Railroad Company until 1970, and then housed other offices and businesses.
In 1996, the building was converted into luxury apartments, and it is now known as the L&N Lofts. The building still retains many of its original architectural features, including its distinctive copper cupola, which can be seen from across the city.
The L&N Building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and it is considered one of the most important historic structures in downtown Louisville.
